The Overlanders are hosting a race at the Heart of Illinois Fair in Peoria July 18th and the fair board has jumped the purse up from last year's levels to $4,000 to be spread over Open Paddles, Modified Cuts, and Pro Stock (MRA versions of all 3). Apparently, the fair board would like to take this race up a notch and the Overlanders thought the 3 traveling MRA classes would be a good fit. I believe they're looking at trying to pay out the same or close to it for the top 2-3 spots as we do at the points races, but just not going down as far as 5th place since they have $1,600 less to work with.

Inside scoop is that if the turnout is good, the purse could get bumped up again for 2010 - might even be a candidate for one of the Nationals if we increase our schedule. They'll also be running Overlanders truck classes, so lots of opportunities to race, and definitely an event we need to have a lot of trucks show up to so it can grow for 2010!!www.gumbo4x4.com

Update:

Open Paddles:
$1,000 to win, $750 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd
Modified Cuts:
$800 to win, $500 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd
Outlaw Pro Stock:
$600 to win, $400 for 2nd, $250 for 3rd, $150 for 4th, $100 for 5th
Pro Stock:
$500 to win, $300 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd

11:00 a.m. start time.

Note, Outlaw Pro Stock does not show on the flier, but is a late addition to the race. I'll be there to handle the entry & payout on that class.
