This is a revised ruling for the Open Bog Class for the HOI Fair Race.
The Open Bog Class is open to any trucks. ( If you enter more then one bog class and should you break before the open class there will be no refunds for that class or any other classes that you have not completed.)

This is just an observation from a non-racing, outsider, spectator. Why put an extra $100 onto the payout of each of the top 3 places for DRAGS CLASS 700 and add nothing to BOGS OPEN CLASS ? The payouts were already obviously favoring the DRAGS over the BOGS. It seems to me that the extra $300.00 would have been more fairly distributed if it had been added to the BOGS OPEN CLASS payouts. The spectators love to see the boggers, as well as the fast drag vehicles. I thought it was probably too late to make any changes to the payouts, but apparently it's not so why not put more cash into the BOGS OPEN CLASS payouts and take some away from DRAGS CLASS 700 payouts. I realize that this was probably decided at your club's meeting this afternoon. To an outsider it appears that there is strong favoritism towards extra cash for the upper DRAG CLASS payouts.

I was wondering there's so much money added to the top three classes is there going to be anything done with the lower classes to entice the lower class racers that are our future higher class racers to come to the bigger races like the fair race in peoria?

Steve we had a sponser put up the money and requested the money be placed in the 700 class. THat's great, so leave the sponsers donation in 700 drag and move some other cash to bog opens class.

there is 5300 in drags payout for only 2 class and 1000 for bogs. do you only want drag racers there ? is that the idea ?

the money was added because somebody donated it and asked for it to be put in the top drag classes so that's how it was done. the pay out is how it is for a couple different reasons. one is that the fair board wants to bring in the fast drag trucks and another reason is that those trucks are the guys that spend the big money to travel several states to race i am a bogger and I'm in no way favoring any sides and i know there will be people that will have something bad to say about this post funny thing will be that half of them will be my friends but that is the reason for the payout. speaking for the club i hope you all show up and have a good time racing speaking for myself i hope everyone grows up and stops complaining and shows up and if not has a good place to race somewhere else thanks

I'm sry for the misunderstanding i thought you were sum-what joking when asking the question. its hard to post on this board without it taking off in a different direction . i will never post a lie or try to be misleading just trying not to start a big ordeal over nothing. we all need to have fun as a group of people that love the sport and it is harder to find races around home because nobody seems to get along or like the rules anymore if we change a rule someone else will have a problem its getting to the point that its either race the rules of the clubs or have no races at all it sucks but the people running the race are volunteers not money makers its one thing to work your butt off to make money or have fun but when you work your butt off to get criticized its just not worth it

I don't take the INTERNET at home (I get nothing done in the garage) or I could have answered Jeff's Question sooner, I was approached at the last race in Newton on the amount of the pay out for the 700 class (my class is 600, no extra money added) and they stated that many of them do not live close and they them self had a 6.5 hr drive to get to our race (90 % of our lower class truck have under 2 hr drive) They stated that if there were more money in the class they would make the trip. Knowing that the Fair board stated to me they wanted more of the crazy fast, upper class, loud, trucks I donated to the class. This donation led to 3 more racers calling me yesterday and letting me know they will be there. All 3 are true class 7 racers (all tube frame, long wheel base, major motor set back, Injection, NOS, very light etc) ! is out of north IA , 1 from southern IN and 1 from MI- Hope this helps everyone understand the reason for the extra money - they normally run for 800 to 900 for first place. We only have from 11:00 to 5:00 to put on the best show we can to help the fair board decide to give us the purse money for next year, we want to show them a top notch event, Hope all of u understand. As for giving money back if you are able to prove to the tec crew U can not run, there was talk of this at the last meeting and it will be handled on a truck to truck decision. We hope people will not enter the upper class then as the race starts look around and see the level of compatition and pull there entry fee out makes for a long day in the office.

The payouts are unfair. I understand the faster trucks cost more to build and there aren't many around this area so they have to travel far but giving them all the money is discouraging the little guys to race. So sorry that the little guys don't have the money to build huge trucks and get big payouts, but they do have fun with what they have. They should get rewarded for the work they have done as well and should be encouraged to keep racing. I'm not saying take all the money out of the upper class but if you throw a little money to the lower classes I'm sure they would greatly appreciate it.

Since there were not 10 entries for class 700 drags, class 800 drags, and BOGS OPEN CLASS, what were the class payouts ? I don't think they changed them. I am pretty sure they payed the advertised purse even thought the class minimum was not reached. I am a little hard of hearing and didn't catch all of it at the drivers meeting, but it was mentioned that it was not going to change. Like I said I didn't catch all of it so am not 100% sure.
I did receive advertised price for my finish in open bog.
It was a good show and lots of good trucks showed up. More than I think that they expected.
