Thanks is not necessary, I'm just trying to help out. For those of you that do not know this, by clicking on the red box that shows the visitor count at the bottom of the main website page or the message board page, you will see a page that shows all types of info as to who is visiting the pages, their location, the page that led them to the webpage (referral), etc. This link will show referral's for the main message board page (the page that led them to the message board page) www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s44messageboard&r=11. Currently 99% of the traffic to the message board comes from the links on the overlanders4x4.net website. Since most people get to the message board from the overlanders4x4.net website, I did not want the clubs domain name to be cancelled and all the pictures, data, links, etc stored on the website and it's file manager lost forever.
I didn't want any harm to come to the clubs vital link to the source of the most up to date info, the proboards message board, so I went ahead and paid the yearly fee and made a few updates, trying to promote the October meeting, the new class for the October 16th race, and the October 16th event in general.
I heard that at the October meeting someone suggested starting a new website or message board for the Overlanders club. If you can develop a way that people can find your webpages that you create without getting there via the overlanders4x4.net website, then you don't need to pay a yearly fee for any website. That may be the best way for you to go forward, but that is for you to decide.
HAPPY RACING & Wishing you all well, Steve in Maryland
